Anti-Corruption Task Force Reports Major Success

The National Anti-Corruption Task Force has announced its most successful year to date, recovering $500 million in misappropriated public funds and filing criminal charges against 50 government officials across various departments.

The task force, established three years ago with special investigative powers, has focused on high-value cases involving infrastructure projects, government contracts, and public procurement. Advanced forensic accounting techniques and international cooperation have been key to their success.

Task Force Director General Pradeep Joshi reported, 'Our systematic approach to investigating financial irregularities has yielded unprecedented results. We've not only recovered stolen funds but also implemented systemic changes to prevent future corruption.'

Major cases include a highway construction scandal involving $200 million in inflated contracts and a medical equipment procurement scheme that overcharged the health ministry by $150 million. All recovered funds are being redirected to their intended public purposes.

The task force has also worked with international agencies to track offshore accounts and recover assets hidden abroad. New transparency measures and digital monitoring systems have been implemented across all government departments.
