New Delhi/Kathmandu. India and Nepal have reached a significant agreement to strengthen bilateral trade relations and facilitate border trade. The agreement was reached during a virtual meeting between the finance ministers of both countries.

The meeting discussed removing trade barriers and promoting digital payment systems. There was also consensus on joint investment for infrastructure development in border areas.

The Indian Finance Minister stated that economic cooperation with Nepal is a priority and that further cooperation will be increased in this area in the coming days. The Nepali Finance Minister also expressed confidence that this agreement will have a positive impact on the economic development of both countries.

Key provisions of the agreement include streamlined customs procedures, enhanced digital payment integration, and joint infrastructure projects along the border regions. Trade experts predict this could increase bilateral trade by 40% over the next three years.
